Here is the continuation of Sarah’s logbook, my daughter, who is doing her observation internship in ninth grade. Otherwise the first two days, the third day and the fourth day.

Continuation of the fourth day’s training

We get up, pack our bags and leave by metro to Neuilly. Once there my father gets on the computer and works. He works every morning before the training sessions. Today he’s going to work with the same people as yesterday and will go deeper into certain things.

He told them about the Scrum cycle. He explains to them how the sprints work and the composition of teams: the different roles. I think the words he says most often are “why” and “how”. In agile these are very important questions.

I realize that it’s a very tiring job. We travel very often (train and metro) to go train people in different companies. Contrary to what one might think he doesn’t always stay behind his computer.

In this profession you need to be comfortable speaking, know how to express yourself in front of people. It’s interesting to see how close he is to his clients, the more time/days pass the more relaxed the “G” employees become, they participate more. My father uses informal language with them so that a relationship is created, to put them at ease. They are calm, they listen to him attentively: they are interested.

I think they really like the small workshops.

After the lunch break, my father did another workshop: make the same drawing with 2 different specifications.

In the evening we leave from Gare de Lyon, take the train and go back home in the south.

Father’s note: I really enjoyed taking my daughter “into the trenches”. She did too apparently, and not only thanks to the great restaurants and evening outings. End of season 1.
