In November 2016, we launched the school of po with Dragos. One year later, we are delighted with its success, and all the conversations sparked around the PO community. We wanted to go further and, building on our experience as speakers or conference organizers (ALE 2016, LKFR), we decided, with butterflies in our stomachs, to propose “la conf de school of po”: laconf.schoolofpo.com.

Morning: Inspiration

For the morning, we wanted to have a single track (no parallel sessions) to have a better collective memory, so that we all experience the same thing, each with our own perspective, to have a common foundation for our conversations, our memories. We also wanted this morning to be a morning of inspiration: we draw from parallel fields to inspire our product managers, our product managers, our product owners.

Alberto Brandolini: learning is key

Alberto will open the day with his charm, his wit, his sharp knowledge of the product owner field. The key idea he will develop during the opening (the only presentation in English) focuses on the vital importance of learning. Learning to optimize your options and choices.

Lamine Gueye: inventing your limits

Lamine invented his own path; where others see limits, he sees opportunities. Founder of the Senegalese ski federation, he decided to be the first African skier to participate in the Olympic Games…before even knowing how to ski. Lamine will push you into #nolimit.

Laure Chouchan: making it concrete

Specialized in television game shows, director of games at Fremantlemedia for 10 years, Questions pour un champion, Famille en Or, Que le meilleur gagne, Mot de Passe…, producer of Fort Boyard, creator of TV formats, Laure now puts her knowledge and creativity at the service of gamification. She will come to add concreteness to your ideas.

Lyvia Cairo: intuition

Entrepreneur, poet, coach, Lyvia follows her flow, her intuition, her torrent of ideas. Are we walking on the edge of the precipice by moving forward this way? Aren’t there plenty of things to discover? Plenty of things that fall into place as if by magic? The universe playing alongside you?

Learn, don’t impose limits on yourself, make your ideas concrete, and follow your intuition — that’s what we want to nourish the reflections that will lead us to the afternoon workshops.

Afternoon: Interaction (workshops)

The afternoon is dedicated to interaction, to workshops, to getting your hands dirty, to feeling the difficulties, to diving into the mess, to learning joyfully together, to trying, redoing, understanding, integrating.

Mapping galore: workshops on impact mapping, on user story mapping, and example mapping. All of this with lots of practice.

Storytelling, UX and Design Thinking, and a perspective on your product through Wardley Maps. All of this always with hands in the clay.

A few more workshops remain to be announced (the program is still in the making phase).

How do we feel?

For us, it’s not simple, in the middle of our activity, to launch this conference. We hope to make it successful for everyone’s enjoyment. We love our program (fortunately) and our way of approaching learning: inspiration followed by practice through workshops with interaction. This approach developed in the meetups of the School of po and excited us. We’re counting on you to participate in this journey.
