The world of training is too conventional (a feeling accentuated by the arrival of online training, videos, which we hope can also change things). For several years, I’ve been trying to transform the rooms of my training sessions into more welcoming lounges: Persian rugs, sofas, etc. The formats aren’t super exciting either: generally seven hours of a day in an austere building in La Défense or elsewhere, and meals in the hubbub of a cafeteria with several hundred people.

When you see the importance of the thickness of the environment in memorizing things. When you observe the key moments that are triggered off the beaten path, you realize we should more often try to conduct our learning in remarkable places.

This is what we’re trying to do with Claudio by offering a learning and team building exercise with Raid Agile in Cévennes.

Brief history

Stéphane (@langlois_s) invites Claude aka Claudio (@claudeaubry) to set up an event in a rich location (he’s thinking of a beautiful island in the area if I’m not mistaken). It’s an idea that’s been on all our minds a bit since the agile basket lunches or agile open sud. The three of us know each other well, and Stéphane makes the mistake of inviting me to participate. I confess to him my love for the Cévennes, a destructured/structuring landscape, and my experience with annual old time music gatherings in these beautiful mountains (that’s also where the agile basket lunches or agile open sud came from, already). The three of us embark, thanks Stéphane. Two paths open up, the first is led by Stéphane (and I’ll let him express it if he wishes). The second is what we now offer with Claudio (transformation of Claude into Claudio) as a pair: Raid Agile in Cévennes (yes, we appreciate the oxymoron, we’ll also provide Lean charcuterie).

Our pitch

The agile raid is about twenty people who meet in a guesthouse in the Cévennes. They share their experiences, discover new tools and develop in teams their roadmap for 6 to 12 months of agile development. They are accompanied by two seasoned practitioners (Claudio & Pablo).

Our unfair advantage

  • An inspiring landscape: we don’t have the Grand Canyon but we have the Cévennes. (we pick you up from the station and take you back to the Nîmes or Montpellier station).
  • The workshops, tools and feedback that our facilitators rely on every day.
  • Walks & meals in an appropriate environment. To reconnect and recharge, discover each other and align within the team. Have timeless conversations.
  • Successfully clarify, align, articulate a vision and action plan, a roadmap for the next 6/12 months.

The first raid is planned for October!

Now is the time to express your interest!, as we’re trying to consolidate a first team. To do this, contact us. The raid is eligible for training rights (dif).

You understand well that building your backlog as a team in a guesthouse in the Cévennes during evenings where the aroma of porcini mushrooms fills the air after an impact mapping conversation during a forest hike, is to live a different experience.
